Created in 1998, Cassiya group got the name of their first album from Cassis, a suburb of Port-Louis (Capital city Of the island). The group was first known by the public in 1993, thanks to the album zenfants perdi simé.
Big title appears in the newspapers, Désiré François, was, in 1993, winner of the song competition Star Show 93 organised by the local tv (MBC). Cassiya was shortly then proclaimed as group of the year in 1994 . Since then, Cassiya flies with bright colours with the concept that their sega is enriched with a variety of melodious tunes which works out with a very sincere inspiration Ici cote nou été, 1995, Naryé la efasé, 1997)
The fresh and soft voice of those vocalists, from time to time tonifiant, these singers have the power to light the fire with the mauritian creole sauce, a music created to mend our heart. And above all, we should not forget that it has been made for dancing!!!
